Although this will be viewed by some as cruel, when you have to eat by trapping a rabbit, this method works well and can be used to great effect when in an area with an abundant supply of rabbits.
There is only so much flora you can eat before you want meat for protein and that means catching, killing and cleaning a living thing so if this is not in your nature you should bring a good supply of preserved meat etc. with you.
